What's your German level?
20 quick questions. No signup. Find your CEFR level from A1 to C2 and get personalized recommendations.
The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is the standard way to measure German ability. It runs from A1 (beginner) through A2, B1, B2, C1, up to C2 (mastery). Universities, employers, and language schools across Europe use it as a shared benchmark.
This test takes about five minutes. You'll see a mix of grammar, vocabulary, and real-world comprehension questions, drawn from a pool covering all six levels. Questions adapt to what an actual learner at each level should know — not textbook trivia.
When you finish, you'll get your CEFR level, what you can already do at that level, where the next gap is, and a short learning path to push to the next band. Nothing is saved unless you choose to — no account needed.
A1 — basic survival phrases. A2 — everyday transactions. B1 — confident traveler, simple work conversations. B2 — fluent in familiar topics, comfortable at work. C1 — nuanced and idiomatic. C2 — near-native.
